Rockflower partner, Youth Bridge Liberia, launched the Youth Economic Empowerment Project to provide economic empowerment opportunities for 75 vulnerable girls through income generation and job creation activities.
Rockflower provided seed capital to kick off the year long project (August 2017 to August 2018), which focuses on training young women in five economic skill activities, supported by a small, non-interest revolving loan fund for start up social ventures. Incorporating training in food science, computer science, soap making, hair and cosmetology, and agribusiness, the project will provide practical and intensive training to address many of the concerns the young women have about their economic future.
The young women express optimism and gratitude during Interviews at the launch ceremony, at being given an opportunity to learn new and practical economic empowerment skills.
