S.P. Anandan
Anandan received his Master of Arts from Madras University in Tamilnadu, India. He is currently the Chief Functionary of the Foundation for Research and Sustainable Development. Over the past ten years, Anandan has carried out women empowerment projects, including but not limited to beekeeping, gardening, biodiversity conservation, rope making and traditional seed preservation, benefitting over a thousand rural and tribal women. He has had several publications in collaboration with Gandhigram Rural University, the FIG Foundation of Denmark, UNDP and the Government of India, the Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund of Japan, and the DIPLO Foundation.
His goal is to ensure the natural heritage and indigenous knowledge of the people of the Western Ghats Mountains are protected and conserved for the present and future generations.
