African Youth Alliance
About
Location: Bamenda, Cameroon
Key(s): Economic Empowerment
The African Youth Alliance works to improve the living situation for women and young girls in Cameroon. Through creating clubs in villages where young girls and women can meet, the organization opens up spaces for these groups to discuss, gain some basic education and receive peer mentoring. These clubs help bridge an existing inter-generational gap.
Mission: Our mission is to empower women and girls to challenge the unjust policies affecting their lives and improve their skills through training on women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender based violence and livelihood support activities for income generation.
Ethos: Young girls and older women should have access to their full rights, lead meaningful and satisfactory lives, with dignity regardless of location to ensure communities where women’s rights are respected.
